Address: Manor Farm Buildings, Intake Ln, York YO23 2UJ

Pouring from: 3 casks and 2 taps

We drank: Cool Citra (American Pale, keg and cask), Bantam Best (Bitter, cask), Flummoxed Farmer (Golden Ale, cask) and Jewel of York (Lager, keg). All were excellent except the Flummoxed Farmer - probably avoid.

Ainsty Ales' Tap Room

The clientele included a mostly local, older crowd, with dogs aplenty. The taproom is located inside a corrugated iron and cinder block farm shed.

Ainsty Ales is a 1.5 hour walk from York Station, mostly down the mostly lovely River Ouse.

They served their own beers, most of which were delicious. While only 4 different styles (the Cool Citra was served cask and tap), they managed to cover a good spread of flavours and styles for early spring after a long walk. I suspect they change depending on season and it seems very likely you'll find something you'd like.

The food is provided via rotating food trucks. While we were there they had "Latin Fusion". Great food, but £10 for loaded fries felt a bit steep.
