Mosaic Tap - Newcastle
2025-09-04
Address: Arch 7 Forth Goods Yard, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 3PG
Pouring from: 10 taps, 1 still cider, 2 beer fridges and ZERO ales.
Do not be confused by the name, this is not a taproom for any particular brewery. All the 8 taps were from different breweries.
Rather standard interior for arch bars, if a bit larger. Reminded me a lot of the late Cronx in size and layout - but a bit more sparse.
Good selections of different beer types, unfortunately no ales in sight. The keg beer I had was exceedingly cold. Not at all in a good way. It reminded me of my uni days buying "Export Gold Extra Cold" [1] - certainly not something you want to be reminded of. Price is okay - the here Ayinger is more expensive than in our local in London, but not hugely more.
Food truck outside looked great, but we didn't try any.
TBW (The Beer Wife) wanted to mention the fact it had an LED sign showing the upcoming train departures - handy!
[1] the exact name escapes me, but it was an extra cold served Export Gold (a cheap and completely inoffensive lager in NZ).
