Selden Arms - Worthing

2026-10-03

Address: 41 Lyndhurst Rd, Worthing BN11 2DB

Pouring from: 11 kegs, 5 casks, 3 ciders

We drank: Vinr (Hole in the Wall collab) by Fourman, DiveBomb by Marble Beers, and a few more I've forgotten - an absolutely delicious saison I wish I could remember the name of.

Another wainscot pub resplendent in dark wooden chairs and tables. Although, unfortunately a bit sticky. The single room was a U shape wrapped around the bar.

There was a really good mix of people there - good balance of old men and students. One gentleman in particular with a black suit, mullet, turtle neck, and gold chain which was a great source of entertainment for us.

All the beers we had were practically perfect and there was an huge range to pick from.

Music was acceptable to me - which sometimes is the best you can hope for.

Pub is named after John Selden, who we had never heard of. We found out more when we asked about the strangled swan which was featured in a mirror opposite the bar (and there was merch - we bought a tote). The swan representing the crown, and the strangling representing his wanting to ... get rid of them? Honestly not sure. We don't know anything about him or his politics.
