The Stanley Ale House - Lancing
2026-10-03
Address: 5 Queensway, Lancing BN15 9AY
Pouring from: 7 kegs, 5 cask, 3 old man ciders
We drank: Cascade by unsure, Lagenda by Marble Beers, Revival APA by Evening Star
Moderate sized single room pub. Upon entering you can instantly tell this place is going to serve some excellent ale. Has all of the telltale signs:
- Wood everywhere
- Mismatching tables
- Only pairs of chairs in the same style
- pews surrounding half of room which just are deep enough and certainly not if you use the stupid pillows
- wainscot around the entire room.
Not that you'd want to leave the main room, but there was another tiny courtyard out the back.
Beers were kept on the slightly cold side of things, but not too much. Everything tasted fresh and clean. Wouldn't have wanted them any other way.
Unsure how expensive the area generally is, but £5 a beer is always pretty good.
Only one toilet but it was clean and well ventilated.
No music playing which was a bit weird, but probably preferable to something you don't like.
Very friendly staff who was conversing with everyone that came in. Felt very much like this was a solid local community serving pub.
