The Sun Inn - Beamish Living Museum
2025-09-05
Address: The 1900s Town, Beamish, Stanley DH9 0RG
Pouring from: 3 taps & 4 casks
We drank: 2 ales (can't remember sorry - might be Beamish-lablled)
Of probably most note, this pub is found within the Beamish Living Museum - to visit this you will need to pay for entrance into the museum. It's totally worth it though, if you have a spare day in Newcastle (or somewhere nearby).
The pub is set in the 1900s section of the Beamish Living Museum, meaning it tries its best to be as close to 1913 as it possibly can (they still accept card though).
As you would expect, it has a very Victorian/Edwardian interior with some lovely taxidermy, classic pub mirrors and other various old-y images. While obviously a novelty, it still was really fun and enjoyable. 2 rooms, the back room (pictured above) was cosy, comfortable, and a bit dark.
Beer was great, nothing to complain about there. Focus on ales which we love, and also imagine is what would've been mostly traditional there.
